Essentially, rather than showing the client the initial costing control, the original contract value is divided into claim elements that relate to the way the client sees the project, using [6.15] Claim Data Maintenance.

Automatically, all variations are included in the progress claim to enable a full contractual summary.   So it is important that, as part of the project scope management process, all identified requests for changes in Scope of Works are raised as Variations, even though they may only be “Ballpark Values”.
