MAN10 Small Jobs

The module was introduced to enable small jobs to be managed in a simple fashion. The work could be for an internal workshop operation (Joinery Facility, Plant & Equipment Maintenance and Workshop Facilities) or used with external clients where a range of smaller projects are performed over time - say one year. Conceptually, each allocation from 1001 to 7007 is allocatable to an individual job such as refit unit no.21, repair dozer no.456, transmission overhead, etc.

Each job may be executed on a different cost basis (cost plus, given value plus, fixed margin or pre-agreed value) with the optional use of budgeting controls.

On raising a small job, the default accounts for Accounts Receivable/Journal, Payroll, Inventory, etc are also raised depending on the chosen framework project . Additional orders and subcontracts may be raised in the traditional format.

As income and expense is processed through the one allocation, each allocation shows individual contribution and the contribution process is carried out collectively in Allocation 9980 at the small jobs master project level.

The traditional Project Cost Report still has the Final Forecast facility but is modified to show the contribution achieved by allocation and released to Project Contribution based on either AR Invoiced or AR Received.

A job may come from either outside or inside the organisation with the system producing a journal (internal) or invoice (external) as required by the client on either a detail or summary basis.
