5502.10 Preparing your server for Muli remote installation (to be updated)

When preparing your server for the remote installation of Muli's Linux Accounting Software we recommend the use of software RAID-1 mirroring with 2 x 500GB SATA drives as standard, however we will accept the use of a true hardware RAID controller configured for RAID-1.

Install Ubuntu 7.10 Server edition (x86/i386 - not x86_64) whilst connected to the network. During the install we'll need DHCP/DNS and http and ftp access to Ubuntu repositories. We recommend reading this entire document before commencing your installation.

Configure your hardware's BIOS to boot from the CDROM drive first. Insert the Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) Server CDROM and boot from this and follow the on-screen instructions.
