5507.9 Muli Network Backup
A Muli Network Backup service is available to Users who have a broadband Internet connection with a fixed IP address.
For Muli to make a network backup requires opening a firewall port to the Muli Wan address, which is forwarded to the Muli server port 22. The open firewall port should not be port 22.
This will enable Muli to set up a scheduled backup to work vi rsync over ssh.
What does this mean? It means that according to the agreed schedule, Muli will create an image of the User database on the Muli Hot Site Machine. This functions as a secondary safeguard to the tape device in case of Acts of God, fire etc.
Assuming the worst, as long as Muli itself was not also affected, the client could expect that Muli's copy of their data, would only be from the night before.
