5507.10 Muli Backup Services (Old Version MP)

Muli data has traditionally been held in an ISAM database. With Version N, Muli has split data into two groups:

1. PostgreSQL Database (traditional Muli transactions)

2. Files Database containing:

   1. LibreOffice files - new system

   2. Orders, Subcontracts, progress claims

      May include digitised documents - Invoices, Faxes, Letters used by Incoming Register and digitised documents such as project drawings, photos, etc.

Impact on document storage size

With Version MX, the average User database is less than 1Gb.
Our largest User's database is 10Gb.

However, the digital storage associated with just one project exceeds 25Gb project files, including 5Gb photos.

There is a need to look at enlarging data storage and back-up solutions.

On reviewing Muli User system failures, the biggest failure is theft of server hardware, followed by hard disk failure. Users should look at a 3-4 year active hardware server life.
