5516.4 Muli VNC Viewer Installation on Windows Workstation:Rev -A

Find the shared folder that contains this file the README_Printers.html  the vncviewer.exe and the muli.ico . If unsure go to My Network Places. Select from the toolbar View - > Explore Bar -> Search, and insert in Computer name: Put in the name/IP address of the computer holding these files.

Having found the files follow these steps:

  1. Create a folder called vnc on your workstation ( preferable not on your desktop)
    ( You can do this using Wndows Explorer (Win + E) if you wish)

  2. Copy the files vncviewer.exe and muli.ico into the folder along with this document.

  3. In the vnc folder right click on the vncviewer.exe and select send to

  4. and then select desktop to send this to your desktop

  5. On your desktop rightclick on the vncviewer short cut and rename to Muli.

  6. Again right click now on the Muli shortcut.

  7. Select properties

  8. Select change icon

  9. Browse the vnc folder and select the muli.ico

  10. Select Apply and close the window.

  11. Now activate the Muli icon and you should be prompted for the session information. you should enter the ip address of the Muli server followed by a colon (:) and the number 52.  e.g. enter 192.168.1.1:52   then press return.

  12. You should now have a login session from the Muli server.
    Session Selection:

    1. If this is the first time your login code has been used then you will need to do the following:
      After typing in the user name in the login screen and before pressing Enter , with the mouse select Session and then Default System Setting (for Ubuntu Linux) or X session on other Linuxs. Then press enter and add your password. Because this is your first time it should prompt you to make this your default for future sessions.

    2. If when you log in you do not get the Muli desktop session then you will need to log out (select System from task bar and then select logout) and repeat the session selection step until you get the Muli desktop.

    3. When using Muli through the vncviewer after you press F8 if it pops up a menu then just press F8 again. That is, when you want F8, press it twice.
